This is the second stage of the cover painting for "The Wicked" by J. Newman

I traced the pencil sketch to illustration board using Saral graphite transfer paper, then went over the trace in ink with a Rapidograph technical pen, cross-hatching in the dark areas. Since the subject matter is centered, I moved the image to the right a bit since the dust jacket tends to fool the eye by pulling images to the left, toward the binding. The next step will be a monochrome under painting to establish the values and start establishing the color.
